We care about safety at all times, and have designed to make the IC36 one of the safest boats on the market.
The IC36 is developed to be unsinkable thanks to low overall weight, foam construction core and three air cells: in the bow, around the daggerboard casings, and aft.

Avoid Bow Pitching
We have optimized the bow interior environment. Bows are classified as collision section with air pockets to ensure unsinkability.
With inverted bows they generate smooth passage through choppy seas and produce less sprey. The bow design of the IC36 results in less bow pitching and higher levels of safety, which is always our biggest focus.

Higher Stability
The mast position is optimized for maximum stability and positioned well aft.
All the highest-weight items of the boat have been located under or close to the mast to keep the centre of gravity as low as possible. These include propulsion batteries and electronics, and water tanks installed in the carbon compression beam on either side of the mast.
The weight distribution has been carefully optimized, with light electric engines at the stern along with optimized bow interior that significantly contributes to the balance go the whole platform and its agility in a choppy sea.
The mast being stepped further aft means the pitching of bows is significantly reduced compared with most catamarans on the market.

Construct From The Racing World
Did you know the epoxy resin is 4time more expensive, but 30% stiffer and 2 times more impact-resistant than polyester and vinylester?
Our Epoxy/Airex foam vacuum sandwich construction makes the IC36 very safe and strong. This construction technique comes from the racing world and every part of the boat uses different sandwich composition.
The main hull construction is from glass fibre, but there is Kevlar reinforcement at collision sections and at the bottom to withstands possible impact. Carbon Fibre is used at the most highly stressed part like beams, tiller, mast and many other items of equipment to keep the weight down whilst maximising stiffness. Bulkheads are glued manually.
This combinations of materials and construction techniques ensure optimal longevity and performance of the IC36.
